Due Diligence ‘Insight Not Hindsight’

What is due diligence?

Due Diligence is an investigation carried out to understand the level of risk an individual or firm may be exposed to.

Risks may include Political, Financial, Legal or Reputational damage. In-depth Due Diligence should be carried out on all potential investments and on commercial suppliers, and prior to any merger or acquisition.

Our Due Diligence investigations provide a detailed report which can be used to make an informed decision. Businesses may be exposed to legal liabilities if they cannot demonstrate that they have acted in a proper manner in their business dealings and that they have been diligent. (see link below)

Due Diligence and Identity Verification

Absolutely essential in DD investigations, we look beyond device-based authentication, beyond static identity data, beyond usernames and passwords.

Within the concept of identity for the digital world we capture the digital identity users create as they transact online. Businesses that gain a holistic view of an identity based on online and offline attributes, can seamlessly authenticate good contacts and spot the fraudulent or hijacked identities, in real time.

Our due diligence services

‘Image is Everything’

Due Diligence is more important today than ever. The World-Wide-Web has created the possibility of creating a business presence with a much larger footprint than it really has. The ability of scammers to project a plausible image of themselves continues to impress even our most seasoned investigators.

Technical processes used to forge documents, even sophisticated bank instruments have come on leaps and bounds in recent years, but we have the technology to defeat it.

Our default position is ‘don’t believe anything until it’s proved’.
It’s a mantra which runs through all of our work.

We offer a covert Due Diligence service, conducting through checks without the target organisation or individual ever knowing. Taking in legal compliance, reputations connections and associates as well as cash flow and financial activity of our targets, we focus on where you may be exposed legally, financially or reputationally.

As we often act for clients who have complex Due Diligence cases that may involve different jurisdictions, our due diligence service is quoted for on a case-by-case basis after an initial review.

The Due Diligence process is likely to include:

  • Potential Political Exposure
  • Potential Reputational Damage
  • On & Off-shore Financial Profile & Analysis
  • Investigating Links, Associations & Activities

Our Due Diligence Services thoroughly investigate any given target using various techniques. These include open source and partner intelligence services, forensic accounting and where required covert surveillance, enabling an accurate picture of the “on the ground” situation. We produce a detailed report to enable a client to make safer informed decisions.

Checking documents

Some estimates suggest that over 90% of bank instruments [MTN, BG, SBLC] in open circulation are false, or part of a larger criminal fraud. We can verify and authenticate most bank instruments.

Our partners employ superb IFD (Image Forgery Detection) artificial intelligence algorithms along with the state-of-the-art image analysis technology to identify digital image manipulation even with forged metadata.

Our Intelligence Partners have developed a robust system able us to detect document forgery automatically. JPEG format gives us the possibility to combine texture analysis, metadata investigation, error level analysis, confidential built in security protocol detection with many other research techniques to detect alteration or forgery.
