Cybercrime
Cybercrime has grown exponentially over recent years and now defined as:
“Offences that are committed against individuals or groups of individuals with a criminal motive to intentionally cause harm to the victims reputation, or to cause them physical or mental harm or loss, directly or indirectly, using computers and telecommunication networks such as Internet networks (including but not limited to Chat rooms, emails, notice boards and groups) and mobile phones (Bluetooth/SMS/MMS)”.
Our response
Cybercrime is a global threat. Criminals and the technical infrastructure they use are often based overseas, making international collaboration essential.
We focus on client relevant incidents, as well as longer-term activity against the criminals and the services on which they depend. We work closely with UK police, regional and national crime agencies, and partners in international law enforcement such as Europol, the FBI as well as global intelligence services to share intelligence, track and develop an action plan to deal with cyber criminals. We have also developed close and effective partnerships with private industry to share information and technical expertise.
